where smells are so strong you can taste them, and stars aren't the solitary pinpricks of light but the bright canopy of lights in the sky. I love this country!

It took three days of traveling to get here, but now I am in Pontianak, Kalimantan. And tomorrow we fly to Parobut, a little village in the middle of the jungle. Don't worry -- I'm taking pictures. People always ask me what it looks like, so I'm trying to take pictures to answer that. And also soaking it in because I don't know when I'll get to come back again...
